IPSWICH BATTERY WORLD CHARGES AHEAD 16 February 2011
Ipswich Battery World has beaten out 75 other stores from around the country to win the retail group’s prestigious Franchisee of the Year award The store,owned by husband and wife team Ruthie and Howdie Farrar, took-out top title at Battery World’s annual national conference at the Novotel Coffs Harbour Pacific Bay Resort on the weekend.
The Farrars also won Battery World’s Marketing Excellence award Battery World General Manager John Pascoe says the Farrars have excelled in all aspects of their business since launching in November 2009, including breaking sales records across the group.
″This is the first time a franchisee with less than three years experience has won the Franchisee of the Year award,″ Pascoe says ″The Farrars have been high profile members of the Ipswich business community, implemented Battery World′s Battery Recycling Program in local schools and businesses and sponsored local sporting groups, among other initiatives,″ he says ″They have used all of the tools available to them to build a successful business and in some cases improved on them.″
The Farrars say they owe their success to their customers. ″We love this city and we want to provide the best service that we possibly can,″ Mr Farrar says ″We’re delighted with the result of all our hard work and would like to thank the community for supporting us in return.″
The Franchisee of the Year award recognises the best overall achiever across all award categories including operations excellence, marketing and store improvements.
The Marketing Excellence award is based on criteria including inventive sales ideas, delivery of the Battery Recycling Program and the stocking of all core and promotional products.
A total of eight awards were handed out on the night, which attracted franchisees from all 76 Battery World stores, management, staff and suppliers.
Olympic gold medal winning speedskater Steven Bradbury was guest speaker and MC at the awards event. |
