In addition to the Bravery Medal, Ray has also been awarded the Queens Commendation for Valable Service, and more recently (December 2024), a Chief of Air Force Gold Level 1 Commendation for his role as a helicopter crewman in the rescue of survivors of a Caribou crash in Papua New Guinea on 28 August, 1972.
