Tragically killed on 29/10/1991 when Boeing 707 A20-103 'Wilberforce' crashed into the sea off Victoria killing the five crew members on board. The crash was attributed to a simulation of asymmetric flight resulting in the aircraft stalling with a sudden and violent departure from controlled flight. Warrant Officer Gwynne was a well-liked and an experienced loadmaster on both the Lockheed Hercules C-130E and the Boeing 707. He was also a training flight loadmaster with 33 Squadron. Crew:
