Warren was a 3rd Intake (Sunbeams 1949) RAAF apprentice. It is unterstood that he was one of the first C-130A flight engineers but underwent his training in Australia. Warren completed a tour of Vietnam in 1967 as an engine fitter with 35 Squadron and completed several missions with 36 Squadron. Post RAAF, Warren was a flight engineer with TAA.
