Leading Aircraftman Duncan Glen McNair of Canberra, ACT.  Duncan, a helicopter crewman, became the first to be killed in Vietnam from 9 Squadron when his helicopter crashed in Phuoc Tuy Province, South Vietnam and ignited during operations on 3rd July 1970.

Duncan died of burns 17 days later on 20th July 1970 in No 3 US Field Hospital, Saigon, South Vietnam.  He is buried at Springvale Cemetery, Melbourne, Victoria.
