Other: John joined the RAAF as a Clerk Supply in 1974 and retired in 1995.  During his RAAF career, John worked mainly within the air movements stream where he may well be remembered particularly by the loadmasters during his time at Air Movements and at Movement Coordination Centre, Richmond.  In the early 80s John also served at RAAF Support Unit Tengah in Singapore, also in air movements where he again had a diverse involvement with the C-130 and Caribou squadrons.  He also did a tour of New Zealand in support of C-130 maintenance with Air New Zealand.

Upon leaving the RAAF, John joined the Queensland Police Service where he is served in the Traffic Branch.  The Queensland Police Service has several former RAAF personnel within its ranks and no doubt there are serving RAAF members contemplating such a career. John has indicated that he would be more than willing to talk to an former Defence member who may be contemplating a career in the Queensland Police Service.

Prior to his retirement from the Police Service, John was with the Deception Bay Highway Patrol.
