On
16 June, 1971, FLTLT Robert Waring (navigator) and SQNLDR Stuart Fisher (pilot) perished after their F4-E Phantom aircraft, A69-7203, crashed into the sea off Evans Head, New South Wales, while participating on a night navigational and bombing exercise.
Robert was an experienced navigator who had flown combat missions with 2 Squadron during the Vietnam War.      |
